AREX Express — the default answer

The Airport Railroad Express (AREX) runs non-stop from Incheon Airport Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 to Seoul Station. Trains have assigned seats, luggage racks and are immune to Seoul traffic.

Terminal 1 → Seoul Station: about 43 minutes
Buy tickets at the AREX counters or machines in the arrivals hall, or book a discounted ticket online in advance

If your hotel is in Hongdae, take the cheaper all-stop train instead — it stops at Hongik University Station directly, which the Express skips.

Limousine bus — best with heavy luggage

Airport limousine buses leave from clearly numbered stops right outside arrivals and run to major hotel districts: Myeongdong, Gangnam, Jamsil and more. Staff load your luggage under the bus. The trade-off is traffic: allow 90 minutes or more at rush hour.

Taxi and private transfer

An official taxi from the taxi rank costs roughly ₩65,000–90,000 to central Seoul depending on district and tolls. Avoid anyone who approaches you inside the terminal offering a ride — use the official rank or a booked private transfer only. For groups of 3–4 with luggage, a pre-booked private van often beats two taxi fares.

Landing after midnight?

AREX stops running around 23:30–24:00. After that your realistic options are the N6001/N6003 late-night buses or a taxi/private transfer. If you land after 23:00, book a transfer before you fly.
