It's a market for handmade goods — jewelry, small art prints, crafts — made by local sellers, not mass-produced souvenirs, so prices are less negotiable but the items are more original than typical tourist shopping.

Where to Eat in Hongdae

Food here is built for late nights and small budgets, though there are sit-down options too.

• Street food stalls near the main street and Playground: tteokbokki (떡볶이), hotteok (호떡), corn dogs, and skewers, generally ₩3,000-6,000 per item
• Late-night dak-galbi (닭갈비) and jjimdak (찜닭) restaurants — good for groups, meant to be shared
• Budget Korean fried chicken (치킨) and beer (맥주) spots for the classic "chimaek" pairing before or after clubbing
